The continuing success of Lagoa badminton star Pedro Martins has obviously inspired other players at his home club.
The latest names to emerge on the international scene from Che Lagoense are Rafael Lopes, who qualified for the last 16 of the Belgian Junior Open taking place in Waterloo before being narrowly beaten by Germany’s Kai Schaefer, and Joao Nero who lost to Scotland’s Lewis Gallacher in the second round.
