Good feet are the foundation of good health and Anthony Mason of the Bear Foot Chiropody and Podiatry Practice is able to help patients achieve this.
Anthony Mason has more than 20 years experience as a qualified chiropodist and maintains his registration on the UK Health Professions Council register.
Registered chiropodists will only use evidence-based treatments on their patients and are required to undergo Continual Professional Development (CPD), which allows them to re-register every two years.
Anthony Mason said: “A basic pedicure can be a very specialised treatment, especially for those who have diabetes where nails can shatter if not cut properly. All diabetics should be seen by a registered chiropodist at least twice a year.”
TREATMENTS
There are a wide range of treatments available: “We are able to treat fungal nails, straighten nails with heat and even rebuild broken nails with acrylic plus many other treatments such as corns, callus, verrucae and ingrowing toenails,” he said.
Also available from Antony Mason is biomechanics: “I am able to look at the gait of a person and see how it could be causing neck or back problems. After assessment, we are able to provide inserts for shoes to adjust a person’s walk and alleviate problems associated with this.”
Patients are able to visit Anthony Mason either at the main Bear Foot Chiropody and Podiatry Practice based in Amendoeira near Loulé or at one of his out-patient clinics in Quinta do Lago or Albufeira.
