Vila Real de Santo António’s municipal company VRSA SGU has spent €165,000 to take over the sports complex in Monte Gordo.
It was previously owned by local football club GD Beira Mar de Monte Gordo until it went bankrupt recently.
Explaining the decision, the council says it bought the complex to “avoid the end of sporting activities in Monte Gordo, as well as to increase the municipality’s patrimony”.
