The Algarve Stadium will be managed by private companies following the closure of the Loulé e Faro Parque das Cidades municipal company.
A public tender will be launched, at a date still to be announced, for the maintenance and management of the Stadium.
Loulé Mayor Seruca Emídio said: “This decision will enable greater profitability and better use of the infrastructure.”
A spokesman from Faro Câmara told Barlavento newspaper: “There is a positive agreement about this situation between the two municipalities. We welcome the decision to close the Loulé e Faro Parque das Cidades company.”
