St Patrick’s Society welcomes ambassador to summer party

The new committee of the St Patrick’s Society of the Algarve elected in May welcomed the Irish Ambassador to Portugal to its “End of Summer Party” held on September 3 in the garden of organisers Alan and Pat Camplin-Smith in Armação de Pêra.

Ambassador Orla Tunney, who was accompanied by her husband Dr Bruce McIntosh, joined members and guests for a three-course dinner and music entertainment.

The committee prepared the starters and desserts while Liza Walker’s Fat Pig Hog Roast Company served a main course of spit-roast chicken and lamb with salads and potatoes. After dinner, Vitor turned up the tempo for dancing.

The next event will be a visit to a winery in Beja on October 4, followed by a quiz dinner on October 15.
