On Saturday, February 18, 45 members and guests of the St. Patrick’s Society of the Algarve assembled at the Balaia Golf Club in Albufeira for the Society’s annual fun putting competition.
The event takes place on a nine-hole putting green that is, to say the least, far from a level playing field, and can be quite a challenge even for seasoned golfers.
The winner of the coveted Helen Cafolla Trophy this time, with 39 strokes, was Jette James.
Jerry Campion was a close second, on 40 strokes.
After the competition, the guests enjoyed a buffet lunch and the conversation turned to the next big society event which will be the annual dinner dance.
This will take place on Friday, March 10 in the Jupiter Hotel in Praia da Rocha, at 7pm.
Tickets are €40 for members and €45 for non-members.
