St Patrick’s Society plans visit to Beja winery

The St Patrick’s Society of the Algarve is hosting a visit to the Herdade Paço do Conde winery in Beja on Wednesday, September 9.

The group will travel by coach to the winery where it is “vindima”, or harvest, time. The programme includes a visit to the “lagar” (olive press) for a talk on olive oil production, followed by a visit to the winery and, of course, wine tasting.

Then the group will be “let loose” in the wine shop where they can buy wines for as little as €3.15 or as much as €9 per bottle. They also have the Winemaker’s Selection at just over €21 a bottle.

A three-course lunch will be served in the nearby Pedra & Sal Restaurant accompanied by wines recommended by the winery.

After lunch, the group will return to the winery to collect the wines ordered before boarding the coach to return home.

The cost of this day out is €35 for members and €37.50 for non-members. Numbers are limited.
