This year marks the Centenary of the Easter Uprising in Dublin which led to the formation of Ireland as an independent nation and Irish people all over the world will be celebrating this anniversary. The Irish Embassy in Lisbon has arranged celebrations in the form of Irish dance, music, literature and, of course, wining and dining to mark this auspicious occasion.
On Saturday, March 19, the St Patrick’s Society of the Algarve will join in the celebrations with a dinner dance at the Pestana Viking Hotel in Armação de Pêra. The evening will commence with a welcome drink at 7pm followed by a three-course buffet dinner. Musician/singer Victor will provide the music for dancing.
Tickets for society members cost €30 and for non-members €40.
St Patrick’s Society of the Algarve was founded in 2002 “to promote social activities for Irish people and their friends”.
