40 enthusiasts gathered to enjoy the delights of walking in the Algarve
Members and guests of the St Patrick’s Association began their latest organised walk from the Villa Paradis Restaurant, Praia Grande, in its idyllic, central Algarve location.
With ample parking space adjacent to the restaurant, the group of almost 40 enthusiasts gathered to enjoy the delights of walking in beautiful spring sunshine. Some also opted for pre-activity coffee, in preparation for the varied trek over countryside, beach and boardwalk.
The trail began across tree-lined terrain in the direction of Armação de Pêra, which nestled peacefully in the distance. Vibrant, early spring flowers lined the opening section across colourful rustic track, before gently traversing towards the beach and boardwalk locations of glorious Galé.
With the option of sampling bracing Atlantic spray on the beach, or using the firmer, underfoot conditions of the boardwalk, all preferences were comfortably accommodated.
From there, it was then time to savour the delights of the Salgados Lagoon, an area renowned for wildlife and fauna, before the route’s final stage on the quiet country road, leading back towards Villa Paradis.
The invigorated and suitably hungry group were now eagerly anticipating lunch, and the restaurant’s proprietors, Laurent and Christophe, did not disappoint. Generous portions of quality food and refreshments, served in an efficient but relaxed style, ensured that friendships old and new were even further enhanced, to complete yet another memorable day in the beautiful Algarve.
