AT THE recently held International Schools’ Athletics Meeting at the Jamor National Stadium in Lisbon, The Resident witnessed fine athletics from the competing students of the local international schools. Speaking to some of the schools’ Physical Education instructors, they were all of the opinion that the standard of athletics was overall greatly improved, as was evident on the day. The athletes showed courage and determination, and that extra rush of adrenaline got them one place in front as the sprint finish paid off. St Julian’s School took away all the silverware at the prize giving ceremony and they well deserved the standing ovation! B.H.
