THE ST. GEORGE’S Society’s 45th annual celebration of St. George’s Day (April 23) was held at Restaurant Conversas da Gandarinha in Cascais Cultural Centre. Acting Chairman Pat Potier, MBE, welcomed the 29 members and guests. The president of the society, Major Michael Stilwell (retd) CBE, MC, proposed a toast to Her Majesty The Queen and the President of the Portuguese Republic. Guest speaker was Father Michael Bullock OGS, who related his experiences in Genoa and gave further insight into St. George. Future society events include a summer cocktail party on June 16 and the 200th Anniversary of Trafalgar Day on October 21.
