A St George’s Day event in aid of Help for Heroes is taking place at The Lighthouse restaurant at Marina de Lagos on April 23.

The restaurant will be serving a full menu all day as well as a couple of specials including beer battered cod and homemade chips with peas, steak and ale pie, bangers and mash with onion gravy, quiche and salad, and “the perfect Plowman’s”. Lunch will be served from 12 noon.

From 5pm to 7pm, brass jazz band The Jazz B’starts will be entertaining guests with sounds through the decades.

The big auction in aid of Help for Heroes will be held from 7pm to 9pm, with items including a champagne lunch and sail aboard the Oyster 53, a micro lite tour of the coast, half-day motor racing driver experience and hotel breaks. From 9pm until late, there will be live music.
