St Andrew’s Society promises fun night of Scottish traditions

The St Andrew’s Society of the Algarve will be having its annual St Andrew’s Ball on Saturday, November 28, at the usual venue of the Penina Hotel, near Portimão.

Starting at 7pm, participants will be greeted by the skirl of the pipes played by piper Malcolm MacGillivray as they make their way to a champagne reception. A buffet with wine will then be served, followed by coffee accompanied by Atholl Brose.

For the 15th year running, the Society is bringing over from Scotland the talented ceilidh band The Sounds of Islay, who are guaranteed to get everyone practising their Scottish country dancing skills.

Ticket prices will be €42.50 for Society members and €45 for non-members. To buy tickets call Kathy Prentice on 919 635 246.
