Spurs and Brighton entertain

By CHRIS WRIGHT

Brighton fans turned up in good numbers at the Municipal Stadium in Albufeira on Tuesday to see new signing Kazenga LuaLua make his debut after signing from Newcastle on a six-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old only arrived in the Algarve on Monday but his pace was a constant worry for the young Spurs XI.

The Seagulls dominated the first half with Will Hoskins and the young Norwegian Torbjorn Agdestein giving the Brighton team a 2-0 interval lead.

The Spurs XI controlled the game after the break and goals from Townsend and Soli completed the comeback to secure a 2-2 draw.

Roland Bergkamp, nephew of former Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp, who signed recently from Dutch side Excelsior, joined the action with fifteen minutes to go and looked a useful addition to the south-coast squad.

With former Chelsea legend Gus Poyet at the helm there is every chance that Brighton could be in the frame for yet another  promotion come the end of the season.
