Palmeiras Resort/Tavira star rider Candido Barbosa made a successful start to his Portuguese Cup defence by recording a clear cut victory in the Povoa de Varzim Spring Classic.
The 35-year-old veteran, who had taken two stages of the previous week’s Tour of Albufeira, came clear of the rest of the field headed by LA-Paredes’ Filipe Cardoso during the closing sprint.
