SINTRA CÂMARA has announced that a new sports arena, representing an investment of four million euros, will be built in Casal de Cambra over the next 18 months.
The new, roofed, sports facility will cater for a wide range of sports and will provide a resource for training as well as competitive events. The complex will also boast a car park and grassed area with benches.
With the new sports arena, local residents will have access to a vast number of sports activities, be it for competitive or leisure purposes. There will be five-aside-football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, hockey and gym activities. The total area of the facility measures 16,800sqm.
The building will have two levels – on the ground floor will be the areas for sports activities, a gymnasium, changing and shower rooms, and a courtyard. The spectators area will occupy the first floor, where there will be room for some 500 seats and a gallery with capacity for 60 people.
There is currently a sports field on the site, which is used for football, and a small sports pavilion – both of which will now be modernised.
