Despite putting up a starting eleven of mostly team reserves, Sporting was able to secure a 3-0 win over fierce opponent Marítimo for the Portuguese League Cup on Tuesday (January 14), after a 0-0 draw with Estoril over the weekend for Primeira Liga. Promising newcomer Carlos Mané (pictured) put the Lisbon-side in the lead in the first half with an amazing shot from outside the box, with midfielder Vítor and centre-back Rojo scoring the finishing goals in the second half.
