Two wild animal protection centres in Portugal are looking for donations to help them rehabilitate animals in their care.
As part of a Christmas campaign, CERVAS in Serra da Estrela and RIAS in Ria Formosa, Olhão, are asking people to sponsor a wild animal receiving treatment at either centre prior to its release back into nature.
Animals include owls, eagles, seagulls, storks, tortoises, hedgehogs and many other species.
Money contributions vary from €15 and €25 for individuals and €250 for companies and institutions.
A certificate and the opportunity to watch the sponsored animal being released into the wild will be given to sponsors.
