A 25-hour charity Spinathon will be held on January 27 at 7pm as part of the 25th jubilee anniversary celebrations of the Four Seasons Country Club (FSCC) in Quinta da Lago.
The fundraising event will be in aid of ACCA, an association that helps children in need in the Algarve.
One person set to benefit is young Guilherme Sequeira among other cases.
President of ACCA Wanda Crawford told the Algarve Resident: “I see many more families suffering due to the current economic climate. ACCA has been inundated with more requests for basic needs, and as the government has made many cutbacks, the poor children are suffering more than ever, making events like this so important.”
Participants must be over the age of 16 for the event, which will be carried out in rotation, with people making up teams.
There is a €20 registration fee, which includes a t-shirt, an information pack and sponsorship forms.
For participants who raise €500 or more, their names will be entered on the V.I.P FSCC board, and there will be a prize given to the highest fundraiser and to the highest calorie burner.
In preparation for the day, training sessions will be held at the FSCC on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am until10am and 10.30am until 11.30
The deadline for pre-registration, to guarantee a t-shirt, is next Tuesday, January 10.
