The government has announced the siting of further speed trap radars – mainly in busy urban areas – from September 1. Two however are planned for the Algarve – one on the A2 in Albufeira, another on the EN125 near Faro. The latest radars are to be followed “at a date to be announced” by more, admits road traffic authority ANSR under its new campaign slogan: “Radars save lives”.
