Parkalgar Honda No1 rider Eugene Laverty scored his most clear cut victory of the season to date when dominating the field from start to finish during the weekend’s 6th round of the World Supersport Championships in Kyalami, South Africa.

Maximum points place the Northern Irishman into a clear second place in the overall standings and only 13 points behind runner-up and title leader Carl Crutchlow from England.

The next round of the exciting series, which will climax at the Parkalgar Portimão home track on October 25, will take place in Salt Lake City on May 31.

Back at the Motor Park, last weekend’s international GT Open saw the combination of Pedro Couceiro and Manuel Gião secure an impressive second place, the Portuguese pair making up plenty of ground in the final race to take the runner-up spot in their Porsche 997 behind the Ferrari F430 duo Fassler/Camathias.

The next round of this championship, which will return to the Algarve later this year, is hosted by Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
