The ‘other’ Portuguese manager working in the English Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur’s Andre Villas-Boas, spent this week in the Algarve relaxing on a beach between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago with his wife Joana.
Also on holiday nearby is Steven Gerrard in the company of his wife and daughters. The Liverpool captain is combining his time away from England with the organisation of a charity golf tournament involving fellow players such as Scott Parker, Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott at Quinta do Lago – the proceeds are earmarked for several good causes in the area.Also read ‘Special holidays’ on page 12.
