A special concert is being held on Sunday, June 18 at the Cine-Teatro in Loulé to raise funds for the building of a new crèche at Associação Social e Cultural de Almancil (ASCA).
The crèche will provide places for up to 147 children up to the age of five. The project is due to start this year and will cost in the region of €1 million, excluding equipment.
To raise funds for this ambitious undertaking, Loulé municipality has generously made available the Cine-Teatro and the event is being organised by Almancil International Rotary Club.
The concert’s theme is ‘Music from Around the World’ and has been designed to appeal to families, featuring a variety of music put together by the talented music director of the São Lourenço Singers, Joyce Whitelaw.
In addition to the singers, also appearing will be Algarve-based poet Felisbela Bartolomeu with Argentine Tangos performed by dancers from Escola de Dança João de Deus, accompanied by Bulgarian violinist Krasimir Dzhambazov and Scottish pianist/singer Joyce Whitelaw.
