A Spanish holidaymaker had to be taken to Portimão Hospital after suffering injuries from a falling rock at Lagoa’s Praia da Marinha, even though he was reportedly 20 metres away from the cliff base.
The man was taken by the owner of a local tour boat to Benagil, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to hospital.
The national maritime authority (AMN) urges beachgoers to stay as far away from cliffs as possible.
