Sounds of the 80s coming to the Algarve

Pull on your leg warmers and roll up the sleeves on your jacket because this August the 80s are making a comeback in the Algarve with two of the biggest music names of the decade scheduled to perform in the region.

Duran Duran and The Human League will both be taking to the stage in the Algarve as part of the Allgarve summer programme of events which this year has a British theme.

Formed in 1977, The Human League have gone on to sell more than 20 million records worldwide and have released nine studio albums.

Originally from Sheffield, they are best known for their iconic 80s anthem Don’t You Want Me Baby which went to number one in the UK and the US in 1981.

The Human League will be playing a selection of their old and new hits in Portimão, at a venue yet to be confirmed, on August 4 from 10pm with tickets costing €25 per person.

Meanwhile Simon Le Bon will be fronting a Duran Duran concert to take place at Herdade dos Salgados, near Albufeira, on August 16 from 10pm and costing €25.

The concert is part of the band’s European tour to promote their latest album All You Need Is Now which has received critical acclaim.

However, they are probably best known for their own New Wave anthem, Rio from 1982, which became an instant and lasting hit.
