ZOOMARINE IN Guia has created a new alert service to assist endangered animals in the sea or in the rivers in Portugal.
The new service is available from any point in Portugal and it just needs a mobile internet connection or a PDA. After an alert is received, the information is analysed and then sent to the relevant department of the Polícia Marítima, the national coast guard, so that a police team can be sent to the identified location and the endangered animal rescued.
The new service can be accessed at www.algarvemobile.com or at http://pda.algarvemobile.com. Both systems are Portuguese speaking only.
