Sonae was the only Portuguese company to be considered “start-up friendly” by Startup Europe Partnership, an initiative which aims to help start-ups develop across Europe.
The group, whose perennial leader Belmiro de Azevedo died recently, was awarded in the ‘Open Innovation Challengers’ category alongside multinational giants such as Barclays, BMW, KLM, Iberdrola, Microsoft, Nestlé and Phillips.
