Sonae, the retail group that owns Continente and Modelo, has launched a new supermarket chain named Go Natural to cater to the organic food market.
The first supermarket opened on December 6 in Lisbon and created 18 jobs. Plans now are to open “at least five more in 2017”, says spokesperson Inês Valadas.
The priority is to open more outlets in Lisbon and Porto, she added.
The new chain is the result of a partnership with Go Well, the company that owns the Go Natural chain of healthy fast food restaurants.
