Sonae CEO Cláudia Azevedo has vowed the chain which owns Continente and many other retail outlets is “fighting” to ensure there are no product shortages (particularly when it comes to food and everyday essentials) nor price increases. She has told Dinheiro Vivo that the solution could well lie in Europe making purchases ‘en bloc’ – similarly to how it did with the vaccine against Covid-19. Ms Azevedo joined other companies recently in closing all business interests in Russia in protest to the war being waged against Ukraine.
