A 62-year-old woman who was trapped in her car for four hours after skidding off the road in Viseu was rescued thanks to her son who used a GPS system on his phone to track her down.
The son suspected something was wrong when his mother, a doctor, was late arriving home from work.
After using a GPS device to locate her phone, the son contacted the authorities who rescued the woman on Monday (June 20) at 6.45pm.
