An unforgettable day is promised yet again at this year’s Mamamaratona 4 on Sunday, October 3. As well as the five or eight kilometre walk or run around the stunning and historic town of Silves, the committee promise an action packed day.
To start us off, the FitBods team will be warming up the runners with Kiss FM DJ Marc Damon providing the sounds. The committee has pulled out all the stops to entertain the crowds – live music will be provided by the wonderful Ilze van Zanten and The Yesterdays will take us back to the 60s and 70s. Other guests include internationally acclaimed Portuguese artists, Nelo Ferreira and Tina T.
There will be stalls selling a variety of interesting goods, a bouncy castle for the kids supplied by PlayOasis, who will donate every euro received to the Mamamaratona 4 fund. Rui and his team from Café Benfica in Silves are supplying breakfast and lunch. Fantastic raffle prizes are available too – so don’t miss out!
This year, for the first time, all participants will receive a T-shirt as well as a medal, both of which are being sponsored by The Resident. So, if you haven’t filled out your entry form or got a sponsorship form yet, pick one up from The Resident office in Lagoa or download them from www.mamamaratona.com. The closing date for postal entries was September 23, but don’t despair because you can still register in Silves on Saturday October 2, between 4pm and 6pm or from 8am on the day of the race.

Volunteers required: The Mamamaratona 4 committee would like to hear from anyone who would like to help on the day – there is always a lot to do and there can never be too many volunteers.
