WITH WORLD Book Day coming up on Wednesday, April 23 (also Shakespeare’s Birthday), we have some special treats in store for children.
Each child visiting the Griffin Bookshop on April 23 will receive a FREE ‘World Book Day’ book of their choice. Each short book
has been written especially for World Book Day by a selection of popular authors for children. It’s a great way to introduce your child, or children, to new authors and encourage reading. No FREE books for adults but a glass of wine or two in compensation will be on hand!
PADDINGTON: Rules the
Waves by Michael Bond will be a special treat for ages 2-4 years. The ever-popular Paddington bear never fails to delight.
PRINCESS POPPY: The Fancy Dress Party by Janey Louise Jones, will have little princesses of age 3+ in pink heaven!
MAGIC KITTEN: A Very
Special Friend by Sue Bentley, is a lovely story for newly confident readers of age 6 and over.
ADVENTURE ACCORDING TO HUMPHREY by Betty Birney is all about a very adventurous pet hamster who will appeal to boys and girls alike, age 6+.
CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS AND THE ATTACK OF THE TALKING TOILETS by Dav Pilkey, with lots of comic illustrations and silly thrills for ages 7-12.
JANE BLONDE THE PERFECT SPYLET by Jill Marshall, will give girls age 7+ a yearning for espionage.
