Solar-powered catamaran makes world debut at Vilamoura International Boat Show

A new solar-powered catamaran created by Sun Concept will be making its world debut at the Vilamoura International Boat Show, which will take place at Vilamoura Marina between Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 16.

The Cat 12.0 has a capacity for 25 to 45 passengers and is described as “completely eco-friendly” as it does not emit greenhouse gases. It is powered by solar energy stored in the boat’s photovoltaic panels.

But there will be much more to see as many of the world’s top brands will be taking part, including Azimut, Greenline, Chaparral, Chris Craft, Princess, Austin Parker, Joker Boat, Sun Concept, Monterrey, Sessa, Windy, San Lorenzo, Absolute, Fairline, Yamaha and Laze Boat.

The boat show has become one of the marina’s most popular events, being held since 1999.

It will be open to everyone from 11am to 9pm. It is organised by Vilamoura Marina and FIL – Feira Internacional de Lisboa.
