Social security top brass get early marching orders

They were hired last summer with a five-year brief, but the board of Portugal’s Social Security Institute has now been relieved of its duties due to the government’s desire for new “management orientation”. As media reports have explained, this was the same reason given for the sacking of the board of the institute of employment and professional training in December. Both boards had been chosen by the last government.
