TO CELEBRATE Epiphany on January 6, traditional Christmas cakes and drinks were distributed to the homeless in Lisbon as a way of combating social exclusion.
Bolo Rei, a traditional Portuguese Christmas cake, as well as other cakes, pizzas, juice and alcohol free beer were distributed among Lisbon’s homeless population by members of the Associação para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento, the association for cooperation and development.
The association’s main aim is to combat social exclusion and the lack of humanity in a city with more than 900 homeless people and 133,000 elderly people, around 33,000 of whom live completely alone.
