A statement from the Ministry of Health today has announced a €745 million cash injection by the government to meet increased expenditure. The money will be used in part to reduce accumulated debt, said the statement, as well as to increase the capacity for response and production of the service. Hospitals are due to receive €630 million with the rest going to regional health administrations.
