Portugal’s SNS State health service is collapsing, PSD leader Luís Montenegro has told reporters today following a visit to the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano (coastal Alentejan hospital) in Santiago de Cacém in which he defended that capacities of IPSS institutions and the private sector should be brought onboard to resolve the crisis. “I don’t want to be scare mongering, but the SNS is collapsing, not because of financial issues, as it has been traditionally presented for many years, but because of (a critical lack of) human resources. It is time to bang the table, to have the courage to try new solutions”, he told his audience.
