Snacking for a good cause in Pêra

Pêra will be hosting its 11th snack festival, Arraial do Petisco, between July 24 and August 2 in the town’s sports complex to raise funds for the construction of a day care centre.

Visitors will be able to sample a variety of traditional Portuguese snacks, or petiscos, including pig’s ears, fried moray eel, octopus salad, snails and corn porridge, among others.

There will also be filling dinners served each night such as bean and cuttlefish stew and lamb stew among others.

Entertainment will include live music from Portuguese bands including pop and Fado music.

Funds raised from this festival, which will be open every day (except July 27, 28, 29 and 30) from 8pm until 2am, will go towards the construction of a retirement home, crèche and day care centre in Pêra.
