The Che Lagoense men’s U-19 team became the latest side from the successful Algarve badminton club to be crowned national champions last weekend.
Meanwhile, senior players such as Pedro Martins and Telma Santos were heading away from Maldives Open second round defeats and towards the start of the European Club Championships in Zwolle, Holland. This is the first time that the club from Parchal is representing Portugal at the elite event, initially matching forces with Bordeaux, TBR from Iceland and Ireland’s Mount Pleasant in Group 2.
The tournament, which began on Wednesday, also features England’s Top Flight club drawn in Group 4 together with Dutch, Hungarian and
Swiss opposition.
