The Authority for Food and Economic Safety (ASAE) has filed a criminal charge against a “smart shop” in Beja, after the hospitalisation of three teenagers who had bought psychoactive substances.
The criminal proceedings were carried out on Saturday by two brigades of the ASAE, said an official source of the authority to Lusanews agency.
The source also explained that although during the inspection, ASAE seized “217 suspicious packages” to the amount of €924, the “smart shop” will remain open because “there is no legal support” to close it.
After having consumed the psychoactive substances, the three teenagers, between 13 and 15 years, were sent to the hospital.
A source from the hospital said the teenagers were “clinically stable and under observation” and were later discharged.
