The deadline for entries to the Algarve Historic Festival may be October 7 but already organisers have confirmed that more than 250 cars have been signed up to take part in the event at the Algarve Motor Park near Portimão between October 20 and 23.
Among the many entries will be two grids of small formula cars making their debut in Portuguese historic festivals, with two 30-minute races for Classic Formula 2 and Formula 3 and another international mixed grid for single-seaters.
To encourage more entrants the organisers are offering free entrance to the welcome barbeque and casino dinner for those with F2 and F3 cars.
Meanwhile, drivers at the Historic Festival will also be able to mingle with some of the legends of Formula 1 as the CIAPGPF1 association has chosen to host its general assembly during the event.
Former Grand Prix drivers already confirmed as coming to Portimão include Maria Teresa de Filippis, Richard Attwood, Tony Brooks, Nanni Galli, Pedro Lamy and Michael MacDowel.
