Two performances of the ballet Sleeping Beauty form part of a cultural programme this month organised by the Pedro Ruivo Foundation in conjunction with the Strauss Festival Orchestra.
This festive season two new spectacles will take to the stage at the Pedro Ruivo Auditorium in Faro.
The first performance of Sleeping Beauty will take place on December 10 at 9.30pm.
By Russian composer Tchaikovsky, Sleeping Beauty will be performed by dancers from the Conservatory of Dance, Álgora the Algarve Regional Dance Company, and the Pedro Ruivo Foundation Dance Academy, with choreography by Maryna Yanchyk.
A second performance will be held on December 14 at 2.30pm, an hour suited for children.
Inspired by music traditionally celebrated each year in Vienna, the Strauss Festival Orchestra will perform on December 22 at 9.30pm.
A selection of waltzes, polkas and Strauss marches will be presented, with audience participation welcomed.
Tickets are now on sale for €32 and €35 at the Pedro Ruivo Foundation centre, Fnac and Ticketline.
