Six people were injured – one seriously – after an ambulance crashed on Tuesday afternoon due to a blown-out tyre on the A22 motorway in Olhão.
The ambulance drifted off the motorway and immobilised on a parallel dirt track.
Four of the people aboard the ambulance were patients – two men, one of whom sustained serious injuries, and two women – while the other two were ambulance crew.
All six were taken to Faro Hospital.
