Pestana Vila Sol Golf Resort will host the ninth Sir Bobby Robson Celebrity Golf Classic tomorrow (Saturday).
The event aims to raise funds for the Refúgio Aboim Ascensão, a child emergency, social solidarity institution in Faro run by Luis Villas-Boas.
The success of the initiative has encouraged the family of the late football legend and Roger Eastoe & Associates to repeat the charity tournament over the years.
So far, since the first edition of the event in 2004, Sir Bobby Robson and Lady Elsie Robson have raised over €500,000 in aid of the Refúgio.
As in previous events, the tournament will count on the presence of international celebrities from the sport and entertainment worlds, such as Alan Shearer, Harry Redknapp and Mick McCarthy to name a few.
The presence of these well known celebrities is a crucial aspect in making this initiative possible.
