Singing the blues at the Pine Cliffs Summer Gala

British blues singer Joe Cocker is the star performer at the 15th annual Pine Cliffs Summer Gala at the resort in Albufeira on August 7.

Known as the Sheffield Soul Shouter, Joe Cocker has been delighting audiences with his gritty voice and powerful cover versions since the 1960s.

He is best known for his international hit Up Where We Belong, a duet he performed with Jennifer Warnes which gained him a Grammy Award in 1983, and also of his cover of With a Little Help from My Friends, which he recorded with guitarist Jimmy Page.

The Pine Cliffs Summer Gala was first staged in 1996 and has since played host to some of the biggest names in the music industry including Lionel Richie, Rick Astley, George Benson, Gloria Gaynor, Bryan Ferry and Roberta Flack.

Last year Michael Bolton wowed the audience at the intimate concert, which included him getting up close and personal with the crowd to perform a rendition of his signature hit When a Man Loves a Woman, while his performance of Nessun Dorma resulted in a standing ovation.

Tickets to the concert are available to buy now and cost €295 per person for a gold ticket to the gala dinner and concert or €600 per person for a platinum ticket, which includes the gala dinner, front row seating and an invitation to the after event party.
