Paintings by the celebrated modern artist Laura Wright will be on display at an exhibition at the Galeria Corte-Real in Paderne, while another show of her work will be simultaneously displayed in Brighton.
Known for her character studies and cubist townscapes, Laura Wright qualified from Lancaster University with a degree in visual arts and from Sussex with a BA (Hons) in creative studies.
Her career experiences include fashion and marketing at the London Institute and as a designer at the Open Air Theatre.
A turning point in the career of Laura Wright occurred when she took up a year-long appointment as an artist in residence in Spain, where she spent time in Malaga and Competa.
Inspiration for some of her work included the typical pueblo hillside villages of Andalucia and the people that she met there.
Now working full time as a professional artist, Laura Wright has had her work exhibited in Spain, the UK and more recently in Portugal with Corte-Real.
The Galeria Corte-Real is open from Thursday to Sunday from 11am until 5pm and is sign posted from Boliqueime, Ferreiras and Paderne.
