Simple Minds live at Freeport

Simple Minds returns to Portugal! The Scottish band will perform live at Freeport Designer Outlet on September 10, at 10pm, one year since Freeport’s official inauguration.

The performance coincides with the release of their highly anticipated new album, Black and White 050505, on September 12. Black and White was recorded in Italy, Holland and then mixed in Los Angeles by the legendary Bob Clearmountain. It is expected to satisfy current fans but also see an emergence of a whole new generation.

Their first single, Home, is released on September 5 and is classic Simple Minds with a driving rhythm, Jim Kerr’s distinctive voice and the Charlie Burchill guitar sound.

Simple Minds were formed in Glasgow, Scotland, 27 years ago and over that time have built a massive fan base all over the world. They have had over 20 Top 20 hits, sold over 30 million records, had five number one albums, a number one single in America plus three American Top 10 singles.

Not only do Freeport customers get up to 50 per cent off big brands like Burberry, Mango, Zara, Versace, Adidas and Max Mara every day of the year, but they also have the chance to win free tickets to huge events – such as Simple Minds – each time they make a purchase in participating shops at Freeport – a concept that does not exist anywhere else in the world.

In 2005, Freeport has hosted Jamie Cullum, Natasha Bedingfield, Ronan Keating, Alice Cooper, George Benson and Craig David – and you can add Simple Minds to this list!
