EIGHTIES BAND, Simple Minds perform in Faro tonight (Friday July 28) at the Algarve Stadium. The group, whose biggest hits include Don’t You (Forget about me), Alive and Kicking, Promised You a Miracle and Sanctify Yourself, is headlining Algarve Rocks, a summer music festival, which also features acclaimed DJ and reggae artist, Sean Paul, and Brazilian star, Pitty.
This Algarve concert is a date on Simple Minds’ Black & White 050505 Tour, and the group is said to love performing in Portugal. Not long ago, the band played at the Freeport Designer Outlet in Alcochete, near Lisbon, and one of the band members apparently owns a house in the Algarve.
The evening’s programme is as follows: 5.30pm doors open, 7.30pm Pitty, 9pm Sean Paul, 11pm Simple Minds.
