Local league Silves FC are the only team from the Algarve to reach the fourth round of the Portugal Cup, equivalent to the English FA Cup, where they are away against Primeira Liga high-flyers Rio Ave on the weekend of November 24-25. Silves who have already eliminated SC Olhanense, Paredes and Chaves ‘B’, are the lowest ranked team still in the competition. Other notable games are: Lusitano FC Vildemoinhos v. Sporting Lisbon; FC Porto v. Belenenses and Benfica v. FC Arouca.
