The investment is part of a strategy to gradually reinforce support for Fire Brigades in the municipality of Silves.
The Municipality of Silves has offered the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of São Bartolomeu de Messines a rescue ambulance, whose investment amounts to €67.000.
The vehicle key handover ceremony was attended by Silves Mayor Rosa Palma, the Vice-President of the Association’s Board, António Pedro Mealha and two fire department representatives.
This new vehicle – equipped with advanced equipment and conditions – comes to help the Fire Brigade improve its operational capacity and provide better quality service when assisting the population.
The municipal investment is part of a strategy to gradually reinforce support for Fire Brigades in the municipality of Silves. This policy, developed in 2014, considers firefighters the country’s most important protection and rescue organisation, assuming a central role in the Civil Protection System.
